Organizer: Krušnohorský rogainingový klub Litvínov
Date: March 29–31, 2019
Event site: Lesná, Chomutov district, Czech Republic
Event Centre: Hotel Lesná, consult mapy.cz.
Event type: Second event of the CAR series 2019. Winning teams in Open categories gain a certificate of free start at the third event of the series, the Czech Rogaining Champs 2019 (team has to compete at the same team composition).
Three stage rogaining of pairs.
  • Friday March 29 - Night 2 hour rogaine
  • Saturday March 30 - Traditional 5 hour rogaine
  • Sunday March 31 - Historical 4 hour rogaine on a map from 1850
Event area: Picturesque terrain of the Ore Mountains, full of rocks and magic moors.
Sections of the event area above 850 meters can be still covered by some snow. Most have thawed by now in high-grown forests or open meadows but you may plunge up to knees-deep on clearings, forest paths or in thickets. It can be worth it to zigzag and try to find an optimal track, and scale down one’s ambitions during the course planning.
Transport: We strongly recommend individual car transport.
If you travel by bus, use a bus from Litvínov and get off at a bus stop „Hora Sv. Kateřiny, rozc. Malý Háj“ (from there you need to walk 6 more kilometers + 250 m climb to the event centre). You can also take a bus from Chomutov and Jirkov and get off at Boleboř (6 km walk onwards + 350 m climb through forest to the event centre).
If you ask us in advance, we will do our best to fix you a lift from the above mentioned bus stops (for a small fee).
Parking: Parking nearby the event centre: Event centre.
Changing clothes: In your own vehicles.
Entering hotel Lesná in muddy racing shoes is strictly forbidden!!!.
Registration instructions: All team members must come to the registration desk to check SI chip and sign an indemnity form.

Check point numbers, their point values and punching instruction will be shown in CP descriptions. In most cases you will copy a code (letter/number) from a plastic warning tape to the relevant field of your punching card. Use your own permanent marker.
Team evaluation:

Control points will be marked on the map using a number, and they will be assigned between 0 and 90 points in the descriptions. Control points of 0 point value will not be placed at all. The number and order of control points is up to discretion of each team (go-as-you-please). The three best complete teams in each category will be awarded. The final ranking of a team depends on the sum of the points gained during the all three stages. In case of the equal point result the better time wins.

Teams exceeding time limit will be charged a point penalty for each minute exceeded:

  • Friday 29. 3. Night 2 hour rogaine - 10 points
  • Saturday 30. 3. Traditional 5 hour rogaine - 20 points
  • Sunday 31. 3. Historical 4 hour rogaine - 20 points

Exceeding time limit by more than 30 minutes results in 0 point team result at a stage.

Compulsory equipment: SI chip and permanent marker for writing of CP codes to control card
